Realistic Referral Traffic (CTR Ops)
Taught on public CTR Geeks episode, date not stated in transcriptWhat this is
Mike's named correction to lazy CTR referral setups. This is the CTR-side SOP that belongs to the same playbook.
Run it
- Never send referral traffic from a bare root domain. Nobody lands on facebook.com and finds your link.
- Send from the deep URL a real human would actually traverse: the specific tweet, the specific post, the profile or business page, the press release itself rather than pressadvantage.com.
- Pinterest example: a human hits the pin, then the profile, then the target URL. Mirror that chain.
- Mixing realistic referral paths in produced materially better results than root-domain referrals in Mike's own testing.
- The payoff is a Search Console referral profile that looks like real behaviour.
